1.
No one, just no one, did you understand? No one can help you! You're alone, you're alone in all this and nobody can help you, nobody loves you, nobody wants you, you're alone! Submit to this prison of fear enwrapped by everlasting darkness, sadness and despair. Every hope is burning before your very eyes and the ashes they leave are taken away from your hands by the cold winds that freeze your heart. Close your eyes. Close your mind. Reach your inner sanctum: it is your only protection against the evil outside.
2.
Anxiety's growing and growing, anxiety's growing inside. And I don't know what to do now while I'm drowning in a sea of tears, I still don't know what to do now. I won't be able to regain my life while I'm escaping from this suffering, I won't find peace until I end my life. A constant worry for what could be the next disaster that is happening, I can do nothing, I just wait and see.
3.
I need some happiness and it's there to be found, I see that happiness and I'll take it all for me. But it's nowhere to be found: happiness, sweet illusion of my mind. I search for happiness but isn't here, neither there, and, after searching everywhere, I realize they were making fun of me. Now this is the end of another song I had better not to make. Are you happy now dear? The fuck I am!
4.
Soulless 03:47
Now listen to this rhythm (the rhythm of pain), that's weird, utmost inconceivable (it breaks your mind). Every beat brings suffering and you forget who you are and who you wanna be. I don't know who I am, no more. I have been deprived of my very soul. There's just anguish and pain, when will it end? Only suffering in this land, when will it end? I'm left with a blank look on my face; I feel my consciousness as it fades away, far away. Now I smile, but this face's not mine; my body moves as it's compelled. Is this the hell?
5.
Fire burns everything, your body and soul will perish in flames; hell now is incoming, atone and repent of your sins while you can. Fire is coming! Death turns everything, your flesh and bones swiftly decay; the end of your memory, all your dear friends will forget you existed. Void is coming! Extinction is coming! Winds of change will erase humankind. Extinction is coming! Eat and shit and fuck while you can! Extinction is coming!
6.
(Instrumental)
7.
We're marching, through the fields of pain, and we're fighting all your enemies. Marching as we keep our pace, fighting as we crush your face. Crush the infidel! Burn him! Crush him before he can escape!
8.
I'm descending the abyss of time immemorial. Welcome to this place where only burning hate can be found, stay down in this place and feed on the hate, so profound. Feed on suffering and turn around. I live in this place where nothing else than hate can be found, I belong to this place and feed on the hate, so profound. Turn around and escape from the abyss and never come back to this place.
9.
What I Hate 03:35
I hate myself as I hate everyone else and no one can defy me 'cause I'm ready to destroy 'em! I hate everything and my hate is neverending, now I'm going to destroy everything that I hate. I don't hate myself, now I hate everyone else.
10.
Far Away 03:19
Demons of the past chase you, as you run; you are running fast and try to turn around and you escape, far away, to horizons never seen. Time, no more waiting, time, I need more precious time. No one can decide who I am anymore. I need more time, more precious time, to run, far away.
11.
Oh, they say I am insane. Oh, but I don't fuckin' care! All this because I hear the voices in my mind, everytime; they tell me what to do and I comply, everytime. They do this everyday and everynight. Die, or obey to the voices inside! Die, or obey to the voices commanding you to kill. Reject any free will that's left inside your mind. React, let your animal instinct guide you to the fight.
12.
Breeding madness and pain, spreading insanity, we are victims and guilty of our own suffering. The plague of mankind will come soon to an end, we are doomed to extinction and we know it. Let's not pretend that we don't know it. Let's not pretend that we don't fear it. Let's not pretend we don't deserve it. Let's not pretend we didn't know it. This is the end, let's not pretend! Well, that's a nice way to end another album... I suppose... thank you for listening. Cheers! Look, the stars are shining, we're finally dead.

about

"If Nightmares Could Sing" (2020 - Masked Dead Records) is the third album made by The Voices. After a strange and original debut, a weird and ethnic second album, The Voices comes back with another album and this time it's spooky time, since this release is all about nightmares.

The formula of this one-man project is the same: making music using only voice and without vocal effects (other than reverb, mixing and mastering... obviously!), breaking all limits and rules - and perhaps even decency - creating this Experimental Avant-Garde A Cappella.
In this third album there's The Voices managed to keep the weirdness high, with an eye for the rhythm, a lot of vocal styles - focusing on the most extreme ones this time - and techniques (even very exotic ones) mixed with irony and creativity. The influences are various: here you can find ethnic music, extreme metal, rock, dark and industrial, dance, spoken, ambient, space, jazz, classical music and other ones, mixed in unpredictable ways.
This album is a nightmare made music in The Voices style, there are different kinds of bad feelings and sufferings: fear, anxiety, delusion, depression, rage and so on... The first part is a rapid succession of these nightmare, until the last track, "To Nowhere and Back", that is an "instrumental" made of voices only, following the ironic tradition, that somehow lowers the pressure introducing a funny weirdness. In the second part the point of view slightly changes and insanity brings new hope in those nightmares: "March of Slaves" is perhaps the most extreme song here, followed by "Abyss of Hate" that begins in a sad way and then becomes histrionic. There are bad nightmares that harass our protagonist who finds shelter in madness: suffering becomes a separate entity so our protagonist can look it in the face, understand it and, finally, be ironic about it. There's no use in arguing about the glass being half full or half empty: just drink all you can and make the best of it.

This was made with invaluable guests: Giulio Franco with a choral part in "Anxiety's Mantra", Matteo Antonelli scream and growl in "...While You Can" and Laura Lasagna scream in "(They Say) I Am Insane!".
